If your GA4 numbers seem too low, don’t match Squarespace Analytics, or show zero product views/purchase activity, then yes. GA4 almost never works correctly on Squarespace without a proper manual setup.

That field was created for Universal Analytics (old version). GA4 doesn’t load correctly there — it often fires too late or fails on certain pages. Installing GA4 manually in the Header is the only reliable method.

Yes, the tracking script will fire across all pages.
However, note that Squarespace does not send enhanced ecommerce events (add-to-cart, purchase, etc.) by default. If you need advanced ecommerce tracking, I can add this as an optional upgrade. -
They will get closer, but they will never be identical — because the two tools measure traffic differently. What you will get is consistent, reliable GA4 data that makes sense.

But no tracking tool can capture 100% of iPhone traffic due to privacy features. -
Absolutely. If your banner requires consent for analytics, GA4 won’t load until someone clicks “Accept.” I can review your cookie banner settings and recommend the best approach.
